Under the framework of the project "Capacity Building on Climate Change for Civil Society Organizations in Vietnam" funded by the Embassy of Finland, a training workshop on "Community forest management in the context of climate change" will be held from August 22 to 25, 2011 in Hanoi for Vietnamese staff working for local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other civil society organizations.

The training workshop will put focus on the definition, roles and basic principles of community forest management, both globally and in the context of Vietnam, and opportunities and challenges of reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+). The workshop will be run by an experienced trainer from Nepal, as well as a local Vietnamese expert.
